Frequently Asked Question
Shift Notes are a summary of what you completed during your shift. They are used to inform your supervisor of what you worked on and provide them enough information for them to approve of your hours. This is necessary to get your hours approved and ultimately, paid. These are a detailed, but concise account of everything you've done during your shift and must be completed for ALL shifts.
Your supervisor should be able to tell you what is acceptable as shift notes for that specific department. Keep in mind that your shift notes should be able to reflect the amount of time you spent at work. For example, if you worked a 5-hour shift, your supervisor should be able to look at your shift notes and think to themselves that the amount of work completed makes sense for 5 hours.
To put in shift notes, you can fill out the notes section on this page before clicking End Work. This will save your shift notes when you clock out of work.
Alternatively, if you forget to add your shift notes before clocking out:
- Click Time on the left side of your screen
- Click Timesheet and you'll be taken to a page that shows you all the previous times you've punched in and out
- Click the three dots on the end of the shift that you want to add notes to
- Click Details
- Add in your shift notes
- Click the Save button at the bottom
Note: Do not edit anything else related to your timesheet besides adding Shift notes. This means you are not allowed to change the start and end time of your shift.
